She Bleeds Out"
burgundy bulbous
meat
plopped down
before me
is it
animal
is it
vegetable
is it mineral
it pulsates
with a foreign
familiarness
it's hot
on one side
and lukewarm
on the other
it belches
and slurps
and snorts
at me
one eyed
hunch backed
trying to get me
to remember something
long, long, long
forgotten
it moves
when I move
it pauses
when I pause
it breathes
annoyingly
loud
raspy
wheezing
like an
asthmatic
"what is it?
what are you???"
"I am love
forgotten,"
she bleeds out.
